We hope you find the answer to your question below, however if you have any further queries then we would love to hear from you.
Following a complete assessment, possible treatment options to assist your pain and condition will be discussed with you. These may include manual therapy, including soft tissue massage, joint mobilisations or manipulation, exercise rehabilitation, acupuncture or ultrasound. If you require an onward referral for further investigations then this will also be discussed with you and your GP.
Physiotherapy can assist with back and neck pain, tension headaches, whiplash injuries usually caused by road traffic accidents or work related disorders, for example repetitive strain injury (RSI). Physiotherapy can also assist with muscle and ligament problems, for example tennis elbow, sprained ankles, weakness and stiffness after fractures or other injuries, carpal tunnel syndrome or sports related injuries for both professional and amateur athletes. If you are suffering with more specific injuries including groin, hip, knee, foot or shin problems caused by either an acute or over use event then we will be able to assist you. Physiotherapy can also assist with postural related problems that result in pain and discomfort or a reduction in mobility or strength following surgery.
Majority of our clients visit us in the clinic locations to receive treatment but we do also offer both physiotherapy in your own home. Our home visits are reserved for those with reduced mobility but we would be happy to discuss your needs further to ascertain whether a home visit is appropriate. Home visits are priced differently to our clinic based therapy and therefore please visit our pricing page to receive further information.
No, this is not necessary. As tops:health is a private clinic you can self-refer yourself to access physiotherapy for treatment and advice with aches, pains and injuries. If we feel you need to see your GP or any other specialist then we will recommend this during your treatment. However if you are claiming through private medical insurance, they sometimes require you to see your GP before they authorise treatment – please discuss with your insurance company as to whether this applies to you.
All of tops:health physiotherapists are fully qualified having undertaken a BSc in Physiotherapy to become recognised and registered with the Health and Care Professions Council. All of our physiotherapists undertake regular continual professional development and are registered with The Chartered Society of Physiotherapy, the regulatory body of the profession. Many of our physiotherapists have also undertaken or are undertaking post graduate MSc programmes in their specialities, leading to accreditation with recognised professional bodies.
We accept cash, cheques and all debit and all credit cards including American Express. We ask that you pay after every visit. Classes can also be paid for online via the MINDBODY app.
We are recognised by and work with all major insurance providers and are registered with both BUPA and AXA-PPP. We are happy to invoice your insurance company directly but for certain insurance companies, we ask you to pay for your treatment and we will provide you with an invoice receipt that you can use to claim against your insurance. All patients should contact their insurance company prior to treatment to obtain a pre-authorisation number/code that will allow you to access physiotherapy.
Please note that prices quoted on our website are for patients who settle their own accounts and for all privately insured patients except BUPA and AXA-PPP patients, who have a separate fee structure negotiated between the BUPA and AXA-PPP and the clinic.
After filling out a short form so that we can learn a little more about you, you will be greeted by your therapist who will conduct your assessment. The assessment will aim to identify the cause of your symptoms through a discussion and a thorough examination of the areas involved. The findings will then be explained to you and the therapist will discuss and implement an appropriate treatment plan that will aim to consider you as an individual, your lifetyle and the goals you wish to achieve. This initial session could last 45 minutes to an hour.
We hope to exceed your expectations in both customer and clinical service, however we are aware that this is not always the case and we do welcome all feedback. Therefore if you are unhappy or feel the need to complain then please do not hesitate to contact the clinic and you will be directed as to how to do this.
The practice encourages chaperones when the patient themselves requests this and for practical reasons would normally try to restrict this to one person. All patients are welcome to be accompanied/have a chaperone during an examination, procedure or treatment. Children (under the age of 16) must be accompanied by an appropriate adult (parent or guardian), where no appropriate adult has accompanied them to the clinic, a member of the clinic staff will be present in the room during the treatment.
